On DC fast charging the Enyaq RS peaks at 165kW to the Touring's 150kW, and both complete a 10 to 80 per cent stop in around half an hour, so road-trip charging is close. At home it flips: the bZ4X Touring accepts 22kW AC on three-phase power, double the Enyaq's 11kW, so it refills far quicker overnight if you can wire in three-phase. If most of your charging happens in the garage, that AC advantage is the more useful one; if you charge on the road, the Skoda's DC edge counts for more.

The bZ4X Touring is the roomier car. Its stretched wagon body measures 4,830mm on a 2,850mm wheelbase and holds 603 litres of cargo, against the Enyaq RS's 585 litres in a shorter 4,653mm body on a 2,766mm wheelbase. The longer wheelbase also helps back-seat space. The Enyaq answers with three-zone climate control against the Toyota's dual-zone system, giving rear passengers their own temperature zone, so it is arguably the more comfortable back seat even if it is not the biggest. Both seat five and both offer a hands-free power tailgate.

The Enyaq RS makes the stronger long-term case on paper. It carries a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty to the Toyota's five years, and its 30,000km or 24-month service intervals mean roughly half as many workshop visits as the bZ4X Touring's 15,000km or 12-month schedule. Both back the battery for eight years or 160,000km. Toyota's counters are a five-year roadside package to the Skoda's two, published capped-price servicing at $180 a visit and about $900 over five years, and a much larger dealer network. If you keep cars a long time, the Skoda's warranty and intervals do the heavy lifting.

For a long-distance owner who keeps cars, yes. As of 2026 the Enyaq RS lists at $79,990 driveaway, $3,970 above the $76,020 bZ4X Touring, so it is the dearer car here even though the Skoda range starts far cheaper. What the money buys is the longer-haul package: 58km more range, two extra warranty years, service intervals that halve the visits, a head-up display and standard adaptive suspension for a more polished ride. If you mostly want space, pace and Toyota's ownership backing, the cheaper Touring is the easier value call.

Both are five-star, so neither gives up safety to the other. Each fits the full active-safety suite as standard, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The Enyaq RS lists nine airbags to the bZ4X Touring's eight, and Skoda publishes the Enyaq's full ANCAP sub-scores, while ANCAP names the bZ4X Touring directly in the current bZ4X rating that applies from late 2025. There is no meaningful safety gap between them on the equipment; both are strong, current five-star choices.

For most families the bZ4X Touring is the practical pick. Its 603-litre boot, longer body and longer wheelbase give it more room for people and gear, and fast 22kW home charging suits a household that tops up overnight. The Enyaq RS is the family answer if your driving skews to longer trips, where its 58km of extra range matters, and if rear-seat comfort is a priority, since it runs three-zone climate control against the Toyota's dual-zone setup. Both are five-star safe with five seats, so it comes down to space against range and rear comfort.

There is no outright winner, only the right car for your priorities. The Enyaq RS is the smarter buy for drivers who cover long distances and keep cars for years, with more range, a longer warranty, fewer service visits and the more polished cabin. The bZ4X Touring is the pick if you want the quicker, roomier car with Toyota's dealer backing and twice the AC home-charging speed, and you can live with less range and a shorter warranty. Both are genuine, well-sorted electric SUVs at flagship money, so the decision is about what you value, not which is better.
