The Skoda Enyaq is the smarter buy for most households: it costs thousands less to get into, carries a much larger boot and a longer warranty, and has the more polished cabin. Choose the Subaru Solterra instead if standard all-wheel drive, the longest range for the money and faster home charging matter more than practicality and running costs.
7yr
Skoda covers the Enyaq for seven years and services it every 30,000km. The Subaru Solterra runs a five-year warranty and 15,000km service intervals, so the Skoda asks for the workshop half as often.

Both wear a current five-star ANCAP rating, so it comes down to the detail. The Enyaq protects occupants better, at 94 per cent adult and 89 per cent child to the Solterra's 88 and 86. The Subaru scores higher for vulnerable road users and safety assist, at 80 and 82 per cent to 71 and 73, and fits a 360-degree camera and auto high beam across its range where the Enyaq's Select 60 has neither. Call it a wash.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle safetyequally well — this one’s a draw.

Family buyers should look hard at the boot. The Enyaq holds 585 litres seats-up and 1,710 folded to the Solterra's 421, a 164-litre gap that decides prams, luggage and the weekly shop. The Skoda also fits three-zone climate as standard where the Subaru runs dual-zone. The Solterra replies with standard all-wheel drive and more range, useful for family road trips, but for everyday practicality the Enyaq wins.
Based on Everyday & family, we’d pick the Skoda Enyaq.
The facelifted Enyaq wears Skoda's Modern Solid look up front, a clean full-width light bar and a closed-off Tech-Deck grille that signals the electric drivetrain without shouting about it. It is restrained and grown-up, the styling of a European SUV that wants to age well rather than chase attention. Against the price-led rivals it reads as the considered choice, and it sets the tone for a cabin reviewers rate a clear step above the value pack.
The Solterra leads with a more rugged face, hexagonal detailing, black lower cladding and Subaru's usual outdoorsy stance. Reviewers call the overall look forgettable rather than striking, but the front end at least reads as a proper Subaru, purposeful if not pretty. The standard 360-degree camera lives behind that nose across the range, and the raised bonnet line hints at the 212mm of ground clearance underneath.

Enyaq
Solterra
The Enyaq is the European-polish pick in a class the price-led rivals otherwise own.
The Solterra is Subaru's serious second swing at the mainstream medium-EV buyer, and the 2026 car fixes what sank the first.

Opinions are our own.
Boot space and everyday practicality top your list, and the 585-litre load bay matters more than outright grip. You want the longer seven-year warranty, the cheaper 30,000km service cadence and the lower entry price. You value a polished, well-finished cabin and a composed ride, and you are happy with rear-wheel drive unless you stretch to the RS. All-wheel drive is a nice-to-have, not a must.
Explore the EnyaqStandard all-wheel-drive security matters, whether for wet roads, gravel or snow trips, and you want it on every grade rather than only the flagship. You want the longest range for the money and the faster 22kW home charging. You will use the 212mm of ground clearance, and the smaller 421-litre boot is enough for your needs. Subaru's all-paw reputation is part of the appeal.
