The Kia EV6 is the pick for buyers who drive far or carry more: it charges faster on 800 volts, travels further and holds a bigger boot. Choose the Subaru Uncharted when value, standard equipment and genuine ground clearance matter more than outright space or range, since it undercuts the EV6 by thousands.
87L
The mid-size EV6 holds 490 litres behind its rear seats to the compact Uncharted's 403, roughly 87 litres more for prams, luggage and the weekly shop before either car folds a seat.

Both wear five stars, tested two years apart, and both ship the full active-safety suite as standard, from autonomous emergency braking to blind-spot monitoring. The EV6 edges safety assist, 88 per cent to 82, while the Uncharted protects vulnerable road users better, 80 per cent to 64. One caveat to keep in mind: the performance EV6 GT is listed by ANCAP as unrated, so the stars cover the Air and GT-Line grades.

The EV6 is the bigger car and it shows. A 490-litre boot beats the Uncharted's 403, and the 2,900mm wheelbase, 150mm longer, frees up more rear-seat room. Both seat five and both hold a five-star rating. The Subaru's coupe roofline looks sharp but costs it space behind the second row, so growing families will find the Kia the easier fit.
Based on Everyday & family, we’d pick the Kia EV6.
The mid-life facelift redraws the EV6's face with Kia's Star Map LED signature and a cleaner nose, the change AU reviewers agree lifts its street presence.
The Uncharted wears a coupe-SUV nose with slim lighting and a broad stance, Subaru's smallest EV styled to look sportier than the Solterra it sits below.

Start with the thing that defines an electric car on a long drive: how fast it charges.
The Uncharted's pitch is simpler: pay less, give up little.

Opinions are our own.
Choose the EV6 for the long haul. Its 800-volt charging refills 10 to 80 per cent in about 18 minutes, the rear-drive Air claims up to 582km of range, and the 490-litre boot swallows more than the Subaru can. Seven years of unlimited-kilometre warranty backs the lot. Spend up and the range runs through a 239kW GT-Line AWD to the 478kW GT.
Explore the EV6Choose the Uncharted to spend less and still get everything. It undercuts the entry EV6 by thousands, lands a 14-inch screen, Harman Kardon audio and heated front and rear seats as standard, and keeps 211mm of clearance with Subaru all-wheel drive and X-Mode. The eight-year battery warranty is the longest here, ideal if value and all-road ability beat outright size.
