From$49,990
From$55,990
The MG S6 takes the value verdict without much argument: it costs about $6,000 less than the Škoda Enyaq at entry yet brings more range, more power and more standard equipment, under a seven-year warranty. The Enyaq answers with a plusher cabin, a better-sorted ride and cheaper scheduled servicing, so lean Škoda only if that European polish justifies the spend.
$6,000
The Škoda Enyaq opens at $55,990 drive-away, about $6,000 above the MG S6's $49,990 (September 2026). Yet the cheaper MG is the one with more range, more power and a head-up display the Enyaq saves for its flagship.

This is the MG's home ground. The S6 Essence is one richly kitted grade sitting comfortably under the Enyaq Select 60, and for the saving it still hands over more range, more power and gear the Škoda parcels out higher up. The Enyaq's rebuttal is not the sticker but its longer service gaps, eight-year battery cover and a resale history the MG has yet to earn. On metal and range per dollar the S6 wins going away; on the slow-burn parts of value, the Škoda claws some back.
Based on Running costs, we’d pick the MG S6.

Five stars each, reached by different routes. The MG carries the newer 2025 assessment and tops the avoidance columns, 84 per cent for vulnerable road users to the Enyaq's 71 and 81 for safety assist to 73, its rating valid to December 2031 where the Škoda's runs out December 2027. The Enyaq, tested in 2021, leads occupant protection, 94 per cent adult and 89 child to the MG's 92 and 87. Standard driver aids match closely on both. Net it out and the MG is the fresher, crash-avoiding pick, the Škoda the marginally safer place to be caught out.
A genuine tie.

Two answers to the same brief, each calming a different nerve. The MG brings more range, more standard kit, a 360 camera and head-up display, the longer wheelbase and the fresher crash result. The Enyaq counters with three-zone air, a cabin testers rate a clear step up, eight-year battery cover and the steadiness of a known badge with cleaner resale. Both hold five seats and five stars. Set gear, range and value against polish and peace of mind, and the MG is the more open-handed buy, the Škoda the more reassuring one.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle everyday & familyequally well — this one’s a draw.
MG gives the S6 a long, low nose and a full-width light bar, 4,708mm end to end on a 2,835mm wheelbase, for a slightly richer stance.
The Enyaq wears its low-key Modern Solid facelift, an upright European face on the wagon body the 2026 update finally added.

the sticker and the standard kit lead your thinking. For $49,990 drive-away (September 2026) the Essence RWD is one generous grade: a 77kWh battery, 530km of range, a 180kW motor, plus a 360 camera, head-up display, ventilated seats, wireless charging and dual-zone air already fitted, where the Enyaq charges up the ladder for it. The $56,990 AWD earns its keep only if 266kW, a 5.1-second sprint and the glass roof matter to you, since it costs range. Accept a firm ride on the 20s, mid-pack 144kW charging and unproven resale. On price and equipment, nothing here touches the rear-driver.
Explore the S6build quality and how a car ages matter more than spec-for-dollar. The one to have is the $64,990 Sportline 85 (September 2026): its 82kWh battery restores a class-topping 551km, and the roughly $5,000 Ultimate package adds the adaptive chassis reviewers rate essential. In return: a cabin a clear step above the value set, a seven-year warranty, eight years of battery cover and 30,000km service gaps. Just accept the entry Select 60 gives ground to the MG on range, power and kit, and the polish is not free. If how a car is made outweighs what it lists, take it.
