Pick the BYD Sealion 7 for more equipment, space and power at a lower price, with a charge-anytime LFP battery. Pick the Škoda Enyaq Coupé for 83km more range, a longer seven-year warranty and better efficiency, if you will pay more for it. Both claim over 480km WLTP and charge around 150 to 165kW on DC.
83km
On near-identical battery capacity, 82kWh against 82.56, the Škoda Enyaq Coupé claims 565km on the WLTP cycle to the BYD Sealion 7's 482, an 83km advantage the Škoda's NMC chemistry and slippery body draw from the same energy.

The Sealion is the value pick, with the basis noted. BYD lists it before on-road costs and Škoda quotes driveaway, so the on-road gap is smaller than the stickers imply, but the Sealion is still the cheaper car and the more generously equipped. Genuine leather, ventilated seats and big twin screens are standard on the $54,990 Premium (August 2026), where the Enyaq Coupé Sportline uses Suedia trim and reserves ventilated seats for the dearer RS. For kit and power per dollar, the BYD wins clearly.
Based on Running costs, we’d pick the BYD Sealion 7.

Both hold a five-star ANCAP rating and run autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and driver attention monitoring. The Sealion's published sub-scores are strong, 93 per cent child occupant and 76 per cent for vulnerable road users, and it adds ventilated front seats as standard. On the headline five stars the two are level, and both come well equipped with active safety, so this theme is a tie.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle safetyequally well — this one’s a draw.

Two different family cases. The Sealion is the bigger car, on a 2,930mm wheelbase with more rear space and more standard comfort kit for the money, from leather to ventilated seats. The Enyaq Coupé counters with longer range, three-zone climate, a tighter turning circle and the longer warranty. Both seat five under a panoramic roof and both wear five-star ANCAP. Space and kit for less lean BYD; range and cover lean Škoda, so we call it level.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle everyday & familyequally well — this one’s a draw.
The Sealion 7 leads with a wide, sculpted nose and a full-width light signature, the longest and widest car of the two. BYD's design is smooth and mainstream rather than aggressive, and the coupe roofline is already dropping away in three-quarter view.
The Enyaq Coupé wears Škoda's sharper Modern Solid face, a slim light bar over an illuminated Tech-Deck grille frame, tidier and more angular than the broad BYD. It is the shorter, narrower car, its tapering roof visible from the front three-quarter.

Sealion 7
Enyaq Coupé
The Sealion 7 is the loaded value play, and it undercuts the Škoda while handing you more.
The Enyaq Coupé asks more money and earns it on the things that last.

Opinions are our own.
You want the most equipment, space and power for your money. The $54,990 Premium (before on-road costs, August 2026) brings genuine leather, ventilated seats, a head-up display and big twin screens as standard, and it is the bigger car on a 2,930mm wheelbase. Pick the Premium 230kW for value, or the 390kW Performance at $63,990 if you want a 4.5-second 0 to 100km/h that undercuts the pricier Enyaq Coupé RS.
Explore the Sealion 7You want the longer range, the longer warranty and the more efficient, more polished car, and you will pay more for it. The Sportline 85 at $70,990 driveaway (August 2026) claims 83km more range than the Sealion on a near-identical battery, backs itself for seven years to the BYD's six, and turns tighter in town. Pick the Sportline 85 for value within the Škoda range; the 250kW RS adds all-wheel drive.
