Skoda Enyaq vs Zeekr 7X

This is the 7X's headline. Its 800-volt architecture accepts up to 450kW on the rear-drive car and 420kW on the 100kWh grades, for a claimed 10 to 80 per cent top-up in 13 to 16 minutes on a compatible ultra-fast charger. It also takes 22kW AC at home or a destination. The Enyaq's 400-volt system peaks at 165kW on the 82kWh Sportline and RS, or 105kW on the LFP Select, closer to 26 to 29 minutes, with 11kW AC. On a road trip the difference is real; around town, both refill overnight.

Zeekr claims 480km for the base RWD, 615km for the Long Range RWD and 543km for the Performance AWD, all WLTP targets. Skoda claims 431km for the Select 60, 551km for the Sportline 85 and 546km for the RS. The 7X's mid-grade goes furthest of the mainstream cars, and its base beats the Enyaq's base by around 50km. The Enyaq is the more efficient car, using about 16kWh per 100km against the 7X's high-17s to high-19s in press testing, so it recovers some ground on running cost even while claiming less range.

Watch the basis. As of late 2026, Skoda quotes the Enyaq drive-away: $55,990 for the Select 60, $64,990 for the Sportline 85 and $79,990 for the RS. Zeekr quotes the 7X before on-road costs: $57,900 for the RWD, $63,900 for the Long Range and $72,900 for the Performance. Add on-roads and the 7X RWD is about $64,000 drive-away in Sydney, so the Enyaq Select undercuts it by roughly $8,000 on a like-for-like basis. Compare drive-away with drive-away, not a drive-away price against a sticker, and the value picture flips from what the headline numbers suggest.

Skoda covers the Enyaq for seven years and unlimited kilometres; Zeekr covers the 7X for five. Both back the battery for eight years or 160,000km. Skoda services the Enyaq every 24 months or 30,000km and publishes a service-pack price; Zeekr services the 7X every 24 months or 40,000km but does not publish pricing in Australia, with press reports putting capped servicing near $2,400 over five years. The Enyaq also uses less energy, so its running costs are lower. If total cost of ownership and a long safety net matter most, the Skoda is the stronger case.

Both carry maximum five-star ANCAP ratings. The Enyaq's rating dates from 2021 testing and posts strong occupant scores, 94 per cent adult and 89 per cent child. The 7X was tested in 2025 under a tougher protocol and leads on vulnerable-road-user protection at 78 per cent and safety assist at 78 per cent, against the Enyaq's 71 and 73. Both come with autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping and adaptive cruise as standard. Neither is meaningfully safer than the other on paper; the 7X's rating is simply the more recent, against harder criteria.

The 7X is the bigger car, 4,787mm long on a 2,900mm wheelbase, so rear-seat space is generous. Its boot swallows 1,978 litres with the seats folded. The Enyaq is shorter but holds more with the seats up, 585 litres to the 7X's 539, and its 10.8-metre turning circle beats the 7X's 11.6 for tight car parks and school runs. Both are five-seaters with tri-zone climate and a panoramic roof. Families who haul gear will like the 7X's folded capacity; those who value everyday manoeuvrability and a bigger everyday boot lean Enyaq.

First-time EV buyers are really asking whether the switch will be low-stress. The Enyaq makes the case with a seven-year warranty to de-risk the move, a tighter turning circle, a bigger seats-up boot and a settled ride once the Sportline has its adaptive chassis. The 7X counters with faster charging to shrink road-trip stops, more rear space and a standard 360-degree camera. If peace of mind and around-town ease matter most, the Enyaq. If you road-trip often and want the roomier cabin, the 7X, provided you can live with its firmer ride.

On equipment and hardware for the outlay, the 7X is tough to beat. Even the base car brings 310kW, a 16-inch screen, a 360-degree camera and 800-volt charging, all from a list price under $58,000 before on-roads. The Enyaq asks more for its performance and reserves the head-up display and 360 camera for the RS. The caveat is the basis: once on-road costs are added, the 7X is dearer drive-away than the Enyaq Select, so the value case is about what you get, not the lowest out-the-door price. For sheer capability per dollar, the 7X.

Nothing in the Enyaq range answers the 7X Performance AWD. Its 475kW and 710Nm deliver a claimed 3.8-second 0 to 100, against the Enyaq RS's 250kW and 5.4 seconds. On charging the gap is just as wide: the 7X's 800-volt system peaks near 450kW for a claimed 13-minute 10 to 80 per cent, where the Enyaq tops out at 165kW. If straight-line pace and quick top-ups are your priorities, the 7X Performance is the clear pick, with the rear-drive Long Range the smarter everyday version of the same hardware.
