Pick the Audi Q4 e-tron 45 e-tron if range and low servicing lead your list, because it travels further on a charge and visits the workshop half as often for the same entry price. Choose the Lexus RZ 500e if you want standard all-wheel drive, more power and the stronger active-safety scores.
2 years
The Audi Q4 e-tron goes two years or 30,000km between services; the Lexus RZ needs a workshop visit every twelve months or 15,000km, twice as often, which upends the usual read on which prestige EV is cheaper to keep.
Pick a priority — we’ll show the numbers that matter and tell you which car we’d choose.

Both wear five stars, but on different vintages. The RZ's 2023 rating leads vulnerable-road-user protection, 84 per cent to 66, and safety assist, 84 to 71, while the Q4's older 2021 rating counters with a higher 93 per cent for adult occupant protection. Both fit the full active-safety suite as standard. The RZ takes it on the newer test and the stronger assist and pedestrian scores.
Based on Safety, we’d pick the Lexus RZ.

The Q4 runs tri-zone climate to the RZ's dual-zone and quotes a usable 1,490-litre boot with the rear seats folded. The longer RZ, 4,805mm on a 2,850mm wheelbase, feels more generous in the second row and edges the seats-up boot, 522 litres to 520. Families who want the extra climate zone lean Audi; those who want the roomiest-feeling cabin lean Lexus.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle everyday & familyequally well — this one’s a draw.
The Q4's upright nose and closed grille keep it unmistakably Audi, restrained where the RZ is theatrical. Slim headlights and a flat bonnet read as the grown-up choice in the car park.
The RZ leads with Lexus's full-width spindle-body face and pinched light signature, the more dramatic first impression. The F Sport sharpens it further with unique bumpers and alloys.

Q4 e-tron
RZ
The Q4 e-tron is Audi's most sensible electric car, and against the RZ it leads where an everyday EV should.
The RZ spent its first life priced out of the conversation.

range and running-ease top your list. It travels furthest on a charge at 524km WLTP, fast-charges quicker on DC at 175kW, and services every two years or 30,000km, all for the same entry money as the Lexus. You accept rear-drive at this grade, a 400-volt platform that no longer leads on charging pace, and a cheaper 2027 facelift on the horizon.
Explore the Q4 e-tronyou want all-wheel-drive traction and the stronger safety net as standard. The 500e brings 280kW, 22kW AC home charging and a current five-star rating with strong pedestrian and assist scores, 84 per cent each. You give up driving range, 460km to the Audi's 524, and accept a 15,000km service interval to get it, and the yoke-equipped F Sport stays a want, not a need.
