Skoda Enyaq Coupé vs Zeekr 7X

Read the driveaway figure, not the list price, because the two brands quote differently. Škoda advertises the Enyaq Coupé on a driveaway basis, from $70,990 for the Sportline 85. Zeekr quotes the 7X before on-road costs, from $57,900, which its own configurator turns into about $64,043 driveaway in Sydney as of August 2026. Like for like on the road, the cheapest 7X undercuts the cheapest Enyaq Coupé by roughly $7,000. Step up one Zeekr grade, though, and the gap vanishes: the Long Range RWD lands about $70,343 driveaway, within a few hundred dollars of the Škoda, with a bigger battery and more range. Your state's charges move both, so run each brand's own driveaway quote.

Charging is not close. The 7X uses 800-volt architecture and accepts up to 450kW on DC in the base RWD, claiming 10 to 80 per cent in about 13 minutes. The Enyaq Coupé runs a 400-volt system that peaks at 165kW and takes around 29 minutes for the same top-up. On alternating current the Zeekr's 22kW charger doubles the Škoda's 11kW. Range, on the WLTP cycle, is closer and turns on the grade. The entry Enyaq Coupé Sportline 85 claims 565km, ahead of the base 7X RWD's 480km, but the Zeekr Long Range RWD claims 615km, past anything Škoda sells here. Charging speed is the Zeekr's; let the grade decide the range winner.

The Zeekr leads on power at every rung. The base 7X RWD makes 310kW and claims 6.0 seconds to 100km/h, against the entry Enyaq Coupé Sportline 85's 210kW and 6.6 seconds. At the top the gap widens: the 475kW 7X Performance AWD claims 3.8 seconds, while the dual-motor Enyaq Coupé RS makes 250kW for a claimed 5.4 seconds. The Škoda's answer is not straight-line pace but composure. Reviewers rate the RS Coupé for balance rather than headline numbers, and the standard adaptive suspension keeps it settled where the Zeekr's can feel busy. For the quickest car per dollar it is the Zeekr; for the more polished one to drive quickly, the Škoda.

This is the Enyaq Coupé's strongest card. Australian reviewers describe it as composed, engaging and unmistakably European, and credit the standard adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control with transforming the ride, firm without it and compliant with it even on 21-inch wheels. The cabin is mature and well built, and the restrained design ages more gracefully than the newcomers. The Zeekr is no penalty box. Reviewers rate its interior well above its price for look and materials, and it does showroom drama better. But the same testers flag a ride unsettled on rough country roads and software still being finessed. For driving polish the Škoda is the safer bet; for cabin richness at the price, the Zeekr answers.

The Zeekr is the larger vehicle, 4,787mm long on a 2,900mm wheelbase against the Škoda's 4,658mm and 2,766mm, and it shows in space. Fold the rear seats and the 7X swallows 1,978 litres to the Enyaq Coupé's 1,610, and its longer body gives generous rear room. The surprise is the everyday boot: despite its coupe roofline, the Enyaq Coupé holds 570 litres seats up, more than the bigger Zeekr's 539, and it adds Škoda's Simply Clever touches like a door umbrella and cargo fasteners. Both are five-seat family SUVs with panoramic roofs and powered tailgates. Choose the Zeekr for maximum folded volume and rear space, the Škoda for the bigger everyday boot.

Both wear a current five-star ANCAP rating, the Zeekr from 2025 testing and the Enyaq Coupé under a rating that applies to the current build. The Škoda fits nine airbags to the Zeekr's seven and matches it on the active-safety essentials: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise and a driver-attention monitor are standard on both. The Zeekr's published sub-scores are strong, at 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 87 for child occupant, and 78 each for vulnerable road users and safety assist. There is little to separate them on paper: both are among the safer choices in the class, so let the rest of the comparison decide.

The Škoda's ownership case leans on its warranty and its network. Cover runs seven years and unlimited kilometres against the Zeekr's five, an eight-year service pack lands around $1,650 as of August 2026, and the dealer footprint is established across Australia. The Zeekr answers in two ways. Its roadside assistance runs five years to the Škoda's two, and its service distance is longer at 40,000km against 30,000km, though both brands service every 24 months. Zeekr does not publish Australian servicing prices as of August 2026; press reports put capped servicing near $2,400 over five years. Both back the battery for eight years or 160,000km. Warranty and dealer certainty go to the Škoda; roadside and service distance to the Zeekr.

It is the central trade-off. The 7X is a first-year nameplate here, launched in August 2025, yet it already out-delivered established EV rivals in its first year and won its class at two Car of the Year programs, so the product is proven even if the ownership story is not. Against that, the Enyaq Coupé brings Volkswagen Group engineering, a seven-year warranty, a dealer network you can already find, and a resale record the Zeekr cannot yet offer. Buyers comfortable with a young brand get more car for the money in the Zeekr; buyers who want the certainty of an established maker will find it in the Škoda. Neither choice is wrong, and the honest reviews back both.

For most buyers cross-shopping these two, the Zeekr 7X is the more car for the money. It charges far faster, makes more power, out-ranges the Škoda at the Long Range grade, and at matched driveaway money asks little more, while reviewers rank it among the best in its class. The Enyaq Coupé earns its keep for a narrower brief: buyers who prize how it drives, its composed European ride, the standard adaptive suspension, a genuinely premium cabin and the reassurance of a seven-year warranty and an established dealer network. Choose the Zeekr for the hardware, the charging and the value; choose the Škoda for the feel, the finish and the certainty behind it.
