It rides a 2,825mm wheelbase, 75mm longer than the EX5's 2,750mm, and reviewers consistently rate its second row and boot among the most generous in the mid-size electric class, helped by a flat floor and a panoramic roof. The Geely EX5 is competitive for a family of four but trails on outright rear room, and its 302-litre boot is small for the segment. If back-seat space and load room top your list, the C10 is the clear pick; if you rarely fill the boot, the EX5's room is enough.

Compare the test cycles first. The Geely EX5 claims 475km on the stricter WLTP standard. Leapmotor quotes the C10 on the older, more optimistic NEDC test: 480km for the entry Style and up to 605km for the Design LR. Converted to WLTP, the Design LR sits near 510km, ahead of the EX5, while the run-out Style falls behind it. Leapmotor has confirmed the C10 will not receive Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in its current generation, because the hardware does not support them; that arrives only with the brand's next platform. The C10's own 14.6-inch system is large and quick, with built-in apps and navigation, but phone mirroring is off the table. For buyers who live in CarPlay, this alone can settle the choice in the Geely's favour.

Both earn the maximum five-star ANCAP rating. The EX5 was tested in 2025 and the C10 in 2024, and both fit the expected active aids as standard, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and blind-spot monitoring. The published sub-scores trade narrow wins, so neither pulls clear on the crash data. The real difference is calibration. Reviewers rate the C10's safety-assist chimes the most intrusive part of the car, with several that cannot be switched off while moving, while the EX5's aids are eager but calmer. On the ratings it is a tie; on daily manners the EX5 is the easier companion.

For families it comes down to space against cost. The C10 is the roomier car, with a longer wheelbase, a bigger boot and a second row rated among the best in the class, plus Stellantis backing behind the warranty and dealers. The EX5 counters with the lower price, lower energy use, a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty and standard Apple CarPlay for the kids' screens. Both are five-star safe and both ride for comfort. Read the C10 as the pick if you need maximum room, especially in Design LR form, and the EX5 as the pick if value and cover matter more.

For most buyers the Geely EX5 is the smarter choice. It costs less to buy and run, carries the longer warranty and keeps the Apple CarPlay the C10 goes without, all while matching it on five-star safety. The Leapmotor C10 earns its place when space is the priority: it is the roomier car, and in its 2026 $50,990 Design LR form it brings the fastest charging and longest range in this pair. Skip the run-out entry Style, which rides the older, slower hardware. Read the EX5 as the value default, and the C10 Design LR as the room-and-range upgrade for buyers who can spend more.
