The Zeekr 7X Performance AWD is the stronger buy for most families: it charges in about half the time, hits harder, out-ranges the bZ4X Touring and lands line-ball on the road. Choose the Toyota bZ4X Touring if a bigger boot, proven Toyota ownership backing and cheaper capped servicing matter more than outright pace.
16 min
The Zeekr 7X Performance AWD claims a 10 to 80 per cent DC charge in about 16 minutes on an ultra-fast charger; the Toyota bZ4X Touring needs roughly 30. Both match on 22kW home AC charging.

Both are five-star cars, so this is close. The bZ4X Touring fits eight airbags to the Zeekr's seven and carries the full active-safety suite, including autonomous emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. The 7X counters with a published ANCAP result, 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, and standard adaptive cruise with lane centring, a 360-degree camera and a driver monitor. The Toyota edges the airbag count; the Zeekr posts the stronger occupant score. Call it a tie.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle safetyequally well — this one’s a draw.

The Toyota takes everyday family duty on the metrics parents use daily. Its 603L seats-up boot is 64 litres bigger than the Zeekr's, it has 211mm of ground clearance for rough driveways, and it fits an extra airbag. The 7X answers with a larger 1,978L folded load bay and a longer wheelbase for rear legroom, so it is not far behind. For daily boot access and peace of mind, though, the bZ4X Touring is the pick.
Based on Everyday & family, we’d pick the Toyota bZ4X Touring.
The bZ4X Touring wears the bZ4X's hammerhead nose on a longer, lifted body, and the optional black contrast roof gives the flagship a rugged, adventure-wagon look the standard car lacks. It reads more like a raised estate than a conventional SUV, which is the whole point. LED lighting and flush handles keep it modern without chasing drama.
The 7X presents as a sleek, premium SUV, with a full-width light bar, clean flush surfaces and a stance the Australian press repeatedly calls Audi-like. It is the more conventional shape of the two, but the detailing and paint quality lift it above its price, and it looks every bit the flagship it is.

7X
The bZ4X Touring is Toyota's answer to the one real complaint about its electric SUV: not enough room.
The Zeekr 7X Performance AWD is the flagship of a range that reset value expectations in this class, and on paper it overwhelms the Toyota.

Opinions are our own.
You want the bigger boot you will use every day, and the estate body that swallows a family's gear. Proven ownership matters to you: a dealer in most towns, known resale and cheap, predictable capped servicing. You would rather have calm, effortless manners than the last tenth in a sprint. And you value the five-star rating and eight airbags over a longer spec sheet you may never use.
Explore the bZ4X TouringCharging speed shapes your week, and cutting a 30-minute stop to about 16 changes how road trips feel. You want real pace, 475kW and 3.8 seconds, plus the longest range of these two and the plusher cabin, with a head-up display and Nappa leather. You will negotiate hard on a newer badge, and you can live with a ride still being polished and software still catching up.
