Both seat five with tri-zone climate and both are five-star safe. The Volkswagen ID.4 stays in contention for families who value a composed, comfort-first ride, the higher occupant-protection scores, physical controls easy to use with kids aboard, and a dealer network that takes the risk out of servicing. If maximum practicality wins, take the 7X; if peace of mind does, the ID.4.
