From$70,990
From$67,990
Pick the Škoda Enyaq Coupé for the longer warranty, more range and fuller standard kit; pick the Volkswagen ID.5 to save about $3,000 on what is mechanically the same MEB car. Both claim over 540km WLTP and charge past 160kW on DC, so the decision is cover and equipment against entry price.
$3,000
The Volkswagen ID.5 Pro undercuts the near-identical Škoda Enyaq Coupé Sportline by about $3,000 driveaway as of August 2026, the same MEB platform and 82kWh battery for less money. The Škoda spends that gap on two extra warranty years and more standard kit.

The ID.5 is the cheaper way into the same car. It opens about $3,000 under the Enyaq Coupé (August 2026 pricing) on a shared MEB platform and battery, which is the clean value case. The Škoda answers with two extra warranty years and more standard equipment for that $3,000, so the value question splits by how you count it: lowest price up front goes to the Volkswagen, most car for the outlay goes to the Škoda. On raw entry price, the ID.5 wins.
Based on Running costs, we’d pick the Volkswagen ID.5.

Both wear a five-star ANCAP rating from the 2021 test, and both run the expected assist suite: autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise and blind-spot monitoring. The ID.5 publishes its full breakdown, 93 per cent adult occupant and 89 per cent child among the sub-scores, and the Enyaq Coupé carries one more airbag, nine to eight. On the rating that matters they are level, so this is a tie.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle safetyequally well — this one’s a draw.

As family transport these two are the same car with different badges. Identical 2,766mm wheelbase, five seats, three-zone climate and rear air vents on both, near-identical rear space. The Enyaq Coupé's marginally larger boot and longer range give it a hair's advantage for the school run and the weekend away, but nothing here would swing a decision. Call it a tie and choose on warranty and price instead.
A genuine tie.
Both cars handle everyday & familyequally well — this one’s a draw.
Škoda's Modern Solid face leads with a slim light bar and an illuminated Tech-Deck grille frame, sharper and more angular than the Volkswagen's. The coupe roofline is already visible in three-quarter view, dropping away behind the B-pillar toward a ducktail tail.
The ID.5 wears Volkswagen's smoother, friendlier ID-family nose, a clean closed panel with a full-width light strip and no fake grille. Softer surfacing than the Škoda, and the same fastback silhouette curving down from the roof to the rear spoiler.

ID.5
The Enyaq Coupé is the more complete half of a pair that shares almost everything underneath.
The ID.5 is the value route into a car the Škoda all but duplicates.

You want the most car for the money on a platform both brands share. The seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty runs two years past the Volkswagen's, the 565km WLTP range and 570-litre boot edge the ID.5, and the standard head-up display is one the ID.5 goes without. Pick the Sportline 85 at $70,990 (August 2026) for the value sweet spot; step to the 250kW RS only if you want all-wheel drive.
Explore the Enyaq CoupéThe roughly $3,000 saving matters more to you than two extra warranty years on mechanically the same car, or you simply want the Volkswagen badge. The Pro at $67,990 driveaway (August 2026) gives you the shared 82kWh battery, 544km WLTP range and a 175kW DC charging peak, plus a five-year roadside package the Škoda cannot match. Pick the rear-drive Pro for value; the 250kW GTX at $76,990 adds all-wheel drive and outputs the RS also offers.
